The Sunday Reset Ritual
A 30-minute Sunday routine that sets up your entire week. Not meal prep. Not planning. A reset.
This isn't meal prep, and it isn't a productivity planning session. It's a 30-minute ritual that closes out last week and clears space for the next one — the difference between starting Monday already behind, and starting it with a clean slate.
Why Sunday, specifically
Monday morning is the worst possible time to make decisions about the week ahead — you're already moving, already reacting. Sunday, before the week starts, is when you have the most clarity and the least pressure. A short ritual here removes a dozen small decisions from your Monday self.
The 30-minute version
- ✓5 min — Clear the kitchen. Empty the dishwasher, wipe the counters. A clean kitchen removes a barrier to cooking well all week.
- ✓10 min — Glance at the week ahead. Not a full plan — just note the 2–3 days that'll be hardest, so you're not surprised by them.
- ✓5 min — Rough meal outline. Not a full menu — just 'what's in the fridge that needs to be used' and 'what am I buying.'
- ✓5 min — Lay out what you need for tomorrow. Gym clothes, lunch container, whatever removes friction from Monday morning.
- ✓5 min — One thing for you. Five minutes of nothing productive — a walk, music, tea. The ritual isn't only logistics.
It's not about being ahead. It's about not starting behind.
The goal isn't a perfectly planned week — that rarely survives contact with Monday anyway. The goal is starting the week without a backlog of small unmade decisions competing for your attention on the day you have the least bandwidth to make them.
One practical habit tip, every Sunday.
No fluff. No generic advice. Just what actually works.
